I have a degree in journalism from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. and a minor in French. Je parle un petite peu de français. Et vous?

Most recently, I’ve been a digital editor for Reader’s Digest’s Enthusiast Brands: Birds & Blooms, Country Woman, Country and Farm & Ranch Living. I know my way around WordPress, love social media and SEO and am passionate about writing great content.

I was previously the public relations coordinator for a Wisconsin-based toy and game company. While most people are told to put away their toys and that work shouldn’t be fun and games, none of that applied for me. I got to play games and talk toys every day, coordinating media coverage, writing press releases and managing social media platforms.

Previously, for six years, I was a journalist. For much of that time, I specifically covered education, dissecting standardized test scores, attending school board meetings, breaking down budgets and talking about topics of interest within schools, from preschool to higher ed.

I also covered city council, crime, breaking news and business. My favorite assignments, however, involved writing profiles and features on interesting people, groups and organizations. I’ve always loved bringing stories to life that might not otherwise have been told.

Possibly the most fun project I’ve ever been a part of was creating a local women’s magazine for one of the newspaper at which I worked. I loved the responsibility of developing content for and then writing and delegating assignments for each new issue. So much love and energy went into each and every one.
